Manager of EMS Transformational Health
Position Summary
The EMS Transformational Health Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing innovative programs designed to transform healthcare delivery within the EMS system. This role focuses on integrating emergency medical services with broader healthcare systems to improve patient outcomes, enhance operational efficiencies, and ensure the delivery of high-quality care. The manager will collaborate with healthcare partners, oversee staff development, and manage key projects that align with industry best practices and organizational goals.
This position makes manager level decisions including daily allocation of personnel and resources within established policy and procedure. This position makes recommendations for policy development, procedural changes, and other issues effecting the operations of Transformational Health Team, and serves as a liaison to ground, air, communications, and support sections of the company. Within this general framework, this position is accountable for the following functions:
Program Development & Implementation:
- Lead the design and execution of transformational health initiatives aimed at improving patient care within the EMS environment.
- Develop and implement strategies to integrate EMS with broader healthcare services (e.g., primary care, mental health, and social services).
- Promote the use of data analytics to drive decision-making and optimize service delivery.
Leadership & Collaboration:
- Work closely with leadership, medical directors, EMS personnel, healthcare providers, and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth integration of transformational programs.
- Lead a team of clinical staff, ensuring training, compliance, and the promotion of continuous learning.
- Act as a liaison between EMS and other healthcare entities to foster partnerships and collaborative care models.
Patient Care & Outcomes Improvement:
- Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes to ensure the effectiveness of transformational initiatives.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) that reflect improvements in patient care, system efficiency, and overall health outcomes.
- Facilitate the integration of technology (telemedicine, remote monitoring) in EMS services to enhance patient management.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to EMS services.
- Maintain adopted clinical and operational standards and continuously work on improving quality benchmarks in alignment with organizational goals.
- Stay updated on emerging healthcare regulations and best practices to ensure EMS services remain forward-thinking and patient focused.
Financial & Resource Management:
- Manage program budgets and resource allocation effectively, ensuring cost-efficient operations while meeting the quality-of-care standards.
- Explore funding opportunities and partnerships to support transformational health projects.
Community Engagement & Education:
- Drive public awareness and education campaigns related to transformational health initiatives within EMS.
- Represent the organization at conferences, meetings, and other public forums to promote and share success stories as requested.
Qualifications/ Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Social Work, Nursing, or a related field from an accredited institution. Master’s degree preferred.
- Current EMS, social work, or healthcare-related certification (EMT, Paramedic, RN, C-SWCM, C-SWHC, etc.) preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in EMS, healthcare administration, or health system leadership.
- Proven experience in leading and participating in healthcare transformation initiatives and cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of EMS systems, healthcare delivery models, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent project management capabilities.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on improving operational efficiency.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
Supervision Exercised
Exercises direct supervision over the Transformational Health Team.
