Executive Director of Care Flight

This is an executive management level position, responsible for making executive level decisions. This position serves as the department head for the Care Flight organization.

This position is accountable for the following:

  • Serves as a member of the executive team through teamwork and shared responsibly over the company’s mission
  • Leads strategic planning efforts within Care Flight, while aligning the mission to the company’s overall objectives
  • Directs daily operations in support of the mission, by setting the department’s vision in coordination with the executive team
  • Ensures Care Flight operations are customer focused and patient care is provided with exceptional clinical performance
  • Responsible for business development activities within Care Flight, resulting in incremental business and market dominance
  • Develops a positive team environment, where employees are proud of being a member and are supportive of one another through open communication, standards and recognition
  • Provides development, coaching and mentoring opportunities to subordinate leaders and high potential employees
  • Supports the company’s Leadership Code of Conduct through one’s own actions and encourages the same from peers.
  • Sets the vision and direction for the Care Flight management team in the performance of their duties
  • Responsible for Care Flight’s P&L, forecasting, budgeting & operational reporting
  • Remains abreast of local, regional, state regulations and legislations which impact delivery of air medical transport issues through active participation in the Association of Air Medical Service, Nevada and California Helicopter Emergency Medical Services and Associations and other relevant entities
  • Works with various internal and external resources and customers in support of the company and Care Flight mission:
  •      o Executive & management team
  •      o Hospitals & Agencies
  •      o Medical Director and CNO
  •      o Public Relations & news media
  •      o Air operations subcontract service providers
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/ Experience Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in business administration or applicable field of study is required.
  • Masters Degree in healthcare administration or applicable field of study is preferred.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years’ direct management experience is required, of which, a minimum of two (2) years’ should be at an executive level.
  • Strong management, communications, and leadership experience and skills are required.
  • Must be able to plan and execute complex business and operational activities and must have excellent follow-up and follow-through skills.
  • Prior Flight Nurse or Flight Paramedic experience desired.
  • Prior experience with business development and competitive markets, within an air ambulance industry highly preferred.
  • Must be able to align strategic goals, communicate direction and rally employees behind a common mission.
  • Knowledge of federal regulations for air medical transports and the state of Nevada and California air regulations and licensing.
  • Prior pre-hospital care and management experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required. Must be able to comprehend and make practical application of complex rules, regulations and laws.
  • In coordination with other members of the Care Flight management team, supports a positive team environment, where employees are proud of being a member and are supportive of one another through open communication, standards and recognition.
  • Provides development, coaching and mentoring opportunities to subordinate leaders and high potential employees
  • Holds employees accountable for customer service externally and professional, respectful and courteous behavior internally with co-workers.
  • Must be a self-starter requiring little direct supervision.
  • Must be able to obtain a Nevada driver’s license.

Exercises direct management over Care Flight personnel and operations.
