Bleeding Control for the Injured (B-Con) educates community members on how to perform immediate and basic life-saving interventions prior to receiving definitive medical care. Students will learn how to manage life-threatening blood loss through the use of tourniquet application and wound packing with hemostatic dressings.
This course is intended for individuals with or without prior medical experience that may be present during any potential traumatic incident including active shooter situations or acts of terrorism. Law enforcement officers, security, teachers, outdoor enthusiasts and other civilians are encouraged to learn these potentially life-saving skills.
Course materials will be provided during class.
