We are saddened to share that a beloved member of the REMSA Health and Care Flight family, Bill Denniston, has passed away after a battle with stage 4 cancer.
Following his years of service as a United States Marine Corps medic in the Vietnam War, Bill served as a police officer for the Washoe County School District before beginning his dispatch career. In addition to his service, Bill’s wife, Linda, served as a Public Safety Dispatcher for the City of Reno Government for many years before her retirement.
During his decades of service to our organization, Bill was both a friend and mentor to many first responders, dozens of which still work in the northern Nevada community today. First responders from Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office RAVEN, Med-Express and more turned out to show their appreciation for Bill and the impact he made on our community.
Last month, we had the honor of celebrating Bill’s legacy – to share stories of his impact with him and his family and to thank him for the impact he has made on so many lives. We will miss Bill greatly, but will always remember his spirit, kind heart and friendship.
